Heidi Klum’s “HeidiFest” will air on September 17 only in excerpts on linear TV. RTL will broadcast the Wiesn party from Munich’s Hofbräuhaus starting at 8:15 PM local time for about 25 minutes, after which the channel switches to football. If you want to see more, you have to switch to the streaming service. From 8:40 PM RTL+ will stream the festival in full, with celebrity guests and musical performances.

At the request of the news agency spot on news, RTL Deutschland explains that the entire evening is indeed framed by the “HeidiFest” concept. The night opens with an “Exclusive” special live from Munich at 6:30 PM. Fifteen minutes later, RTL+ kicks off a live countdown with insights from the red carpet.
At 8:15 PM it will be “Pre-game with Heidi,” as the network puts it, before the program continues exclusively on the streaming platform. “With this, we are showing the complete ‘HeidiFest’ and intentionally rely on the strong interplay between RTL and RTL+,” RTL says from Cologne.
By the way: You don’t need an expensive RTL+ subscription to watch Heidi: RTL told Digital Fernsehen that the “HeidiFest” will be freely available on RTL+ for streaming to everyone.
Europa League vor Schlagerparty
The TV channel will, however, switch to pre-game coverage for the UEFA Europa League starting at 8:40 PM, with kickoff at 9:00 PM. Which match will be shown on Free TV has not yet been determined. German teams Bayer 04 Leverkusen and 1899 Hoffenheim are in the league.
The network itself describes the plan as connecting two strong worlds on Thursday: “great entertainment around Heidi Klum and international top football.”

HeidiFest made its premiere last year on ProSieben. The format wasn’t a ratings slam-dunk there. The reboot is meant to be “bigger, louder” and to offer everything that makes for a true television event, as RTL Deutschland’s Chief Content Officer Inga Leschek explained. (spot)
