Two anti-queer incidents in Frankfurt on Friday drew the police into action. In the first case, the 41-year-old owner of a restaurant ejected two LGBTQ+ individuals, aged 25 and 39, from his Kaiserstraße establishment around 5:25 p.m. and insulted them, the police said on Saturday. The confrontation escalated into a dispute, and two men intervened, allegedly joining in by directing multiple queer-phobic insults at the victims and threatening them.
Charges were filed against the three suspects — including suspicions of incitement to hatred, threats, and insult. The two men, aged 26 and 25, were taken to a police station for further police measures.
Insulted at the Seilerstraße / Klapperfeldstraße intersection
The second incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in downtown Frankfurt. According to the police, the attack targeted a 42-year-old person from the LGBTQ+ community who was standing with another person at the Seilerstraße / Klapperfeldstraße intersection in the evening.
The victim was initially insulted by a group of three men. When the victim asked who had insulted them, one of the suspects spoke up. Another man then struck the victim in the jaw with a can. After the incident, both suspects fled on foot.
Suspect descriptions released
The two male suspects are described as roughly 20 years old. One wore a dark cap and dark shorts; the other has dark blonde curly hair and wore a black t-shirt and black long pants.
