The British fashion scene has lost one of its most dazzling figures. Scottish designer Pam Hogg, who dressed stars like Rihanna, 37, and Kate Moss, 51, with her daring creations, has died. As her family announced on Instagram, the designer died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice in the Hackney district of London, surrounded by friends and family.
“The Hogg family is deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved Pamela,” the statement reads. It thanks the hospice staff for their support in Hogg’s final days. “Pamela’s creative spirit and life’s work have touched the lives of many people of all ages, and she leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire, bring joy, and challenge us to live beyond the confines of convention,” the family continues. The fashion designer will live on in “hearts and minds.”
A cause of death was not disclosed. Pam Hogg was also known for keeping her exact age private. As reported by the BBC, she was said to be in her sixties.

The music world bids farewell to her
Pam Hogg was best known for her form-fitting catsuits. Pop stars such as Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga wore her designs. Shakira, Beyoncé, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Claudia Schiffer, and Kate Moss have also shown themselves in her creations. Princess Diana purportedly wore a gown she designed, and Princess Eugenie reportedly chose a Pam Hogg hat for the 2013 Royal Ascot horse race, according to media reports.

Hogg also campaigned for LGBTQ rights. At her London Fashion Week show in 2014, dedicated to the Russian group Pussy Riot, her models carried signs reading “Love is a Human Right.” This was a direct response to the recently enacted Russian law against “gay propaganda.”
The outpouring of tributes in the wake of her death has been substantial—especially from the music world. “Heroine,” commented Blondie’s Instagram account under the Hoggs family’s post. “The world has lost a true great. A unique individual. A jewel of a person,” wrote Garbage singer Shirley Manson, 59. Lila Moss (23), Kate Moss’s daughter, left three red hearts. (spot)
