With dry humor and even drier wigs, the Golden Gmilfs have returned to Berlin’s BKA-Theater. In their new show “Miami Spice,” the sly quartet of seniors finds itself facing unrest in a Floridian neighborhood: Who are the new people next door? Where did they come from? And what happened to the missing jewelry?
A New Neighbor Raises Questions
The ensemble presents the onstage figures with self-deprecation, sharp, biting dialogue, and surprisingly tender undertones. Rachel Intervention takes on the role of Rose, Ryan Stecken plays Sophia, Yvonne Nightstand appears as Dorothy, and Deena Fear embodies Blanche. To ensure justice, Miss Pan Am Drag Airlines and Mii take to the task.
Beyond the cast’s buoyant energy, “Miami Spice” promises the familiar satirical bite and the over-the-top stage energy of the Golden Gmilfs. At the heart of it all is the mystery surrounding the enigmatic new neighbor.
