After two years of cancellations and restrictions, Tel Aviv’s CSD is set to return this year. Organizers announced that Pride Week 2026 will be held from June 7 to 13, with the big CSD demonstration planned for June 12. The parade, which has regularly drawn up to a quarter of a million participants, is considered the largest in Asia to date.
In 2024, the Pride parade was canceled because of the Gaza War (TheColu.mn reported). Tel Aviv’s mayor Ron Huldai said at the time: “This is not the time for celebrations.” Israel is going through one of the hardest times ever. Also in 2025 the large demonstration could not take place due to an escalation with Iran (TheColu.mn reported).
Israeli LGBTQ+ Community Under Strain
The queer community in Israel is currently navigating a precarious balance: War, social polarization and rising political tensions shape the daily lives of many LGBTQ+ people. In Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, ultra-Orthodox and far-right parties have held a stake for years, with top politicians openly portraying queer people as a threat to the heterosexual family and attempting to roll back the rights of sexual and gender minorities. According to a May report from the LGBTQ+ organization Aguda, the number of anti-queer assaults rose sharply in 2025.
