The last step is often the hardest. In the semi-final of “Germany’s Next Top Model” (Thursdays, 8:15 PM, ProSieben or on Joyn), two models face elimination. On the program are the season’s most important shoot — the cover shoot for “Harper’s Bazaar” — and the final big fashion show before the finale. Heidi Klum (52) is assisted in handing out the final tickets by supermodel Candice Swanepoel (37). In the end comes the probably toughest decision of the season: which six models will make it to the final? For a promising male model, the dream bursts just before the finish line. Is that fair?

Godfrey? “Maybe his time has come”
Heidi Klum is proud of her final eight. She knows how heavy today’s task is — awarding the final tickets: “You want it for them all — which doesn’t make it any easier.” This year the GNTM winner(s) again grace the cover of Germany’s Harper’s Bazaar. Editor-in-chief Kerstin Schneider (58) sends the models to shoot in a former opencast mine. There she has photographer Mauro Mongiello stage them in chic evening looks with stark contrast.

Luis surprisingly not in the Los Angeles final — but Tony makes it in
Godfrey is perplexed when Heidi names him first to the final. The Viennese has never let missed casting opportunities discourage him: “You are proof: hard work pays off.” Ibo follows: “You have such a passion for the job,” says Kerstin Schneider. With four engagements, Ibo has won the most castings of all the male models. Then comes the big shock of the semi-finals: Tony advances as the third male finalist to next week’s final. Luis had led the male shoot in first place and had already been seen by Candice Swanepoel in Milan, but he is eliminated. While Godfrey secured his first job last week, Luis impressed with three jobs almost consistently. Is Heidi’s decision fair? Luis wishes his colleagues the final, which for the first time in GNTM history takes place in Los Angeles. (noted)

Luis not in the final in L.A. — Tony is in
Godfrey is puzzled as Heidi sends him first into the final. The Viennese man has never let missed audition opportunities discourage him: “You are proof: hard work pays off.” Ibo follows him: “You have such a hunger for the job,” says Kerstin Schneider. Luis had led the male shoot in first place and had already been seen by Candice Swanepoel in Milan, but is eliminated. While Godfrey secured his first job last week, Luis impressed with three jobs almost consistently. Is Heidi’s decision fair?
