The British up-and-coming canoeist Klass Francisks Rozentals has reportedly decided to compete for Latvia, the homeland of his family, in the future, according to British media reports. The move follows a dispute with Paddle UK, which last autumn suspended his brother Kurts Adams Rozentals, who is also a canoeist, for two years. The federation accused the athlete of bringing the sport into “serious disrepute” with a sexualized Instagram video. It apparently bothered the canoe association that the 24-year-old was active on OnlyFans — just like his brother.
According to the federation, it was Kurts Adams Rozentals’s Instagram video showing “a sexual act on a plane” that sparked the sanction. The 24-year-old could not understand the ban: “I wasn’t blocked by Instagram. It wasn’t indecent. There was nothing that wasn’t suitable for Instagram,” Rozentals told Sky News at the time. In fact, Instagram blocks sexual content far more aggressively than many other social-media platforms.
OnlyFans among sports stars growing more popular
Many athletes now present themselves on OnlyFans, including German athletes (TheColu.mn reported). For a monthly fee, they can offer exclusive videos — Rozentals charges about $12 per month for access (about €10.40). Pornographic depictions are allowed — and porn stars actively promote subscriptions on OnlyFans. Athletes, however, usually show a bit of skin, but not pornography. Rozentals markets himself on OnlyFans with the slogan: “No filters. No limits.”
Klass Francisks Rozentals explained on Instagram that he could not fund his sport. “You have to choose between financial stability and Olympic dreams,” he wrote. At first, he tried to work as a bartender or in construction, but then he had too little time for training.
