Rubber boots over glamour: “The Promihof” in the Polish countryside opens for the second time its doors to German trash-TV enthusiasts. In the new season, 22 stars and reality newcomers swap the red carpet and big-city life for a barn, animals, and tough farm work. Included are queer contestants — among them the perennial reality-show participant Matthias Mangiapane.
The celebrities on the “arguably craziest farm in the world” (RTLzwei) must not only milk cows, but also prove themselves in challenges and fight for a jackpot of up to €100,000. For order on the Promihof, once again, celebrity-farmer Nino Sifkovits is in charge. “The Promihof” airs on October 29 at 10:15 p.m. on RTLzwei. Seven days earlier, the episodes will be shown in advance on RTL+, but of course only to paying subscribers.
Mangiapane is controversial
Mangiapane is in German television the epitome of a classic reality-TV pro: loud, feisty, highly polarizing, and prone to dramatic moments. He often makes belittling remarks that draw a lot of criticism — he himself claims to have “the intelligence of a fox” (TheColu.mn reported). Some people even consider him the “greatest shame” of the LGBTQ community (TheColu.mn reported). Be that as it may, he is frequently booked by major broadcasters. This year he already appeared on “Battle of the Reality All-Stars” on RTLzwei (TheColu.mn reported).
