The Great Celebrity Redemption: New Season on Sat.1

As soon as the new season of “Celebrity Big Brother” kicked off, Joyn was already signaling the next wave of reality TV content. Just a few days after the finale in the famous TV container, “The Great Celebrity Atonement” enters its fifth season. This time, the broadcast arrangement changes a bit.

Streaming and TV audiences head into the new season with a clear lead. On Joyn, the first two episodes will be available starting Monday, October 26, 2026. For traditional television, fans will have to wait about four more weeks and switch to a new channel: instead of airing on ProSieben, “The Great Celebrity Atonement” will now premiere on Sat.1. The fifth season starts on November 24 at 10:10 p.m.

Aleks Petrovic “wants to atone”

All eyes are likely to land on the controversial reality star Aleks Petrovic. He enters the new season with a clear objective: “It would be the total horror for me to be voted out before the ‘Round of Shame,'” the 35-year-old says in a press release. “I want to atone,” Petrovic adds, referencing misogynistic remarks he made during his stint on RTL’s “Temptation Island VIP.” The chance to address those past missteps comes with Olivia Jones (56), who will again shine a light on the celebrity’s former transgressions.

Beyond Petrovic, other familiar (non-queer) faces from reality TV and social media will confront the “Round of Shame.” The cast includes Georgina Fleur, Cosimo Citiolo, Marwin Klute, Ex on the Beach alum Sahel, Nadja Großmann, Melissa Hofman, Annamiltina, and Raffaela Raab, who has become known as a “militant vegan.”

Eike Immel leaves on the second night

For former football goalkeeper Eike Immel, the atonement format proved too intense, ending his run prematurely. As had been reported weeks earlier, the 65-year-old had to leave the show shortly after his participation was announced. A network spokesperson confirmed to Bild that “The Great Celebrity Atonement” was over for Immel soon after his confirmation; he exited the camp on the second night due to multiple boundary-crossing incidents. What exactly happened will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
