Arrest: 17-Year-Old from Italy’s Neo-Nazi Scene Planned Attacks on LGBTQ People

Because of terrorism suspicions, a 17-year-old from the neo-Nazi scene has been arrested in Italy. The suspect, from the northern Italian province of Trentino, was found at home with homemade weapons and far-right materials, according to police cited by the news agency ANSA. The arrest was carried out by officers belonging to a special unit that deals with terrorism. Razzias targeting right-wing extremist youths and young adults across Italy had already been carried out last week.

Authorities also said that in autumn 2025, during investigations into online right-wing extremist networks, the teenager had come to the investigators’ attention. There, he stood out for a pronounced extremist ideology and a willingness to use violence. The 17-year-old allegedly planned to carry out violent acts with his self-made weapons. Potential victims named included Jewish people, immigrants, government representatives, and especially homosexuals and other queer people.

The authorities apparently had to act quickly against the 17-year-old because the planning of violent acts was already far advanced. The police spoke of an “imminent attack.”

“Let’s cut their throats one by one”

In online discussions in the forum “Fronte Fascista Italiano,” the young suspect repeatedly referred to extremist mass murderers and massacres that he idolized, and expressed the ambition to carry out similar acts of violence. There were also targeted calls for killings. The authorities quoted lines such as “Let’s cut their throats one by one,” directed specifically at queer people and other minorities.
In the apartment, police found crossbows, knives, and machetes, as well as flags and drawings of racist symbols, including Nazi banners. On the teenager’s smartphone were also found instructions for terrorist attacks, manuals on how to use firearms, and a list of deadly poisons. The police did not disclose the exact residence of the teen.

In a large-scale operation carried out by the Carabinieri and the national police last week, simultaneous raids were conducted in 13 Italian provinces on 17 suspects — including 14 minors — on suspicions of far-right terrorist activities and anti-constitutional propaganda. The authorities recovered numerous edged and stabbing weapons, knuckle-dusters, Nazi and fascist memorabilia, as well as instructions for bomb-making and for vehicle attacks.
