Investigators from the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters’ Criminal Police are currently looking into a case involving a 15-year-old boy and two additional suspects who have not yet been identified, facing charges that include bodily harm and insults. The police announced this on Thursday. The incidents occurred on two consecutive days last week.
According to the police, a 25-year-old man was distributing food to people in need in Ludwigsburg’s city center last Thursday, July 23. While doing so, he offered meals to two men who are believed to be teenagers. They initially accepted the offer but then threw the food back at him and directed homophobic insults at him.
On Friday at about 10:15 p.m., the 25-year-old encountered the two presumed youths again on Akademiehof, along with another unknown young man. One of the suspects again directed discriminatory remarks about the man’s sexual orientation and his appearance. The trio then pursued the 25-year-old into the Gewächshausweg area, where one of the offenders suddenly grabbed him by the collar and struck him in the face several times with a punch, according to the police report.
The 25-year-old managed to break free from the attacker’s grip and fled. He sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by emergency medical services.
A suspect captured
Yesterday, around 10:30 p.m., a witness reported to the police that two of the suspects were again on Akademiehof in Ludwigsburg. When law enforcement arrived, the two young men fled. One of them, a 15-year-old, was temporarily taken into custody after a brief pursuit. He was released into the care of his parents following police processing.
The investigations into the other two suspects were still ongoing. One of the alleged offenders is described as being about 17 to 19 years old, roughly 1.60 meters tall, and of a stocky build. He is said to have a darker complexion and to have been wearing a gray-black T-shirt and gray-black jogging pants.
