The Golden GMILFs Are Back

With dry humor and even drier wigs, the Golden Gmilfs have returned to Berlin’s BKA-Theater. In their new piece “Miami Spice,” the sly quartet of seniors faces unrest in a Floridian neighborhood: Who are the new neighbors next door? Where did they come from? And what happened to the missing jewelry?

A New Neighbor Raises Questions

The ensemble presents the stage primitives with self-irony, sharp-witted dialogue, and surprisingly delicate undertones. Rachel Intervention takes on the role of Rose, Ryan Stecken plays Sophia, Yvonne Nightstand appears as Dorothy, and Deena Fear embodies Blanche. For justice, Miss Pan Am Drag Airlines and Mii are the ones tasked with keeping order.

Alongside a lively cast, “Miami Spice” promises the familiar satirical bite and the over-the-top stage energy the Golden Gmilfs are known for. At the heart of the show is the question of what the mysterious new neighbor is all about.

The production blends musical numbers, absurd scenes, and live playback with sitcom excerpts from the cult series “The Golden Girls,” which aired in the 1980s and 1990s. “Miami Spice” runs July 22–25 and July 26–29, with performances every evening at 8:00 PM at the BKA-Theater, Mehringdamm 34 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Tickets are available starting at €24.20. (dd/pm)
