Riccardo Simonetti and Palina Rojinski Launch a New Podcast

They are friends—and now they’re also collaborating professionally: TV host Palina Rojinski (41) and the queer entertainer Riccardo Simonetti (31) are launching a new video podcast titled “Saus & Applaus”.
The first episode of the Spotify format will drop on Friday (July 17). After that, new installments will follow on a weekly basis. The Berlin-based hosts will talk about pop culture, lifestyle, media, society, and friendship, but they’ll also tackle more serious topics. For example, what they notice about women’s or queer roles in TV series and films.
The individual episodes will be divided into fixed segments — including Beauty Talk, Astrology, questions from the community, and spontaneous challenges. Will they invite guests? “One should never say never,” Simonetti replies. But for now, both want to get to know each other even better through the podcast.
“We share many similar values, we have many similar views, and yet we each bring our own opinions and perspectives,” says Rojinski. “It’s like sitting with us in the kitchen at the end of the day and briefly reflecting on the day,” the actress adds.
But is another talk podcast really necessary? “I think podcast charts would be happy to see other voices come to the fore,” Riccardo Simonetti tells the German press agency. A female voice and the voice of a queer person aren’t always represented in the rankings.

Rojinski has already hosted several shows, appeared in films and series, interviewed prominent guests on her podcast “Podkinski,” and launched her own fashion label “Astrolinski.” She also DJs in addition to her on-screen work. She first gained recognition through her collaboration with the Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf duo. Riccardo Simonetti is listed by Spotify as one of Germany’s most well-known male media personalities. The openly gay best-selling author and host frequently appears on various TV formats and speaks publicly in favor of equality and tolerance.
