Thrilling Finale: How Sam Dylan Became the All-Star of All-Stars

Nine celebrities are still in the running in the final double episode of “Kampf der RealityAllstars” on RTLZWEI. But not everyone will make it to the final game—before that, eliminations happen step by step. The starting point is the infamous phone: in front of the Sala, staff set up an old-fashioned telephone. Whoever answers first when it rings receives a message—positive or negative. The stars from earlier seasons know this game all too well.

Cecilia Asoro (30) is the first to grab the receiver—and, just like in her season, she’s rewarded. She survives to the next round, but only on the condition that someone answers on the second ring as well. This time it’s Sarah Knappik (39). She’s also safe. At the same time, she learns that a star will be the target of the third call. She must keep this information to herself.

While the other stars sense trouble looming, two friends, Elsa Latifaj (20) and Kate Merlan (39), contend for the next call. In the end, Kate lets Elsa go first. For the Austrian, this has immediate consequences: she must leave the Sala right away. Her exit leaves the impression that she sacrificed herself for Kate.

Matthias sacrifices himself for the group

And already the next exit approaches. The remaining eight contestants must choose one person from among them to be eliminated immediately. A majority of six votes is enough. If they can’t reach a decision, the prize money of 40,000 euros is cut by 10,000 euros.

First, Kader Loth (53) wants to sacrifice herself, then Matthias Mangiapane (42) steps in. Because the husband of Hubert Fella believes he would not win anyway and doesn’t need the prize, he allows himself to be chosen. With a broad toothpaste-smile, he leaves the show.

After the psychological games, it’s back to sport. The stars must answer questions about the history of “Kampf der Realitystars.” The correct answers hang on flagpoles—whoever reaches them first may pop a balloon. Inside is either a ticket for the next round or a dud. Only four celebrities advance, while the remaining three must tremble.

Maurice Dziwak (27) lands a hit on his very first try. He’s followed by Kate and Cecilia into the next round. Sam Dylan (41) secures the last ticket on his third attempt.

Anonymous applications for more screen time

Cosimo Citiolo (44), Sarah, and Kader must first pack their bags. “Very, very top” is their goal, but they’re given one last chance: they may write an application letter for additional screen time. The remaining four contestants then decide which two of the three unsettled candidates will be saved.

In their letters, the stars are not allowed to name their own names. Yet they embed clear clues for identification. Cosimo and Sarah put in the effort; Kader refuses and writes only the bare minimum. For the reality veteran, submitting such an application would be beneath her dignity.

Maurice, Kate, Cecilia, and Sam must now weigh whether to base their decisions on the applications or play it tactically. Should they send a strong rival like Cosimo home, or discipline Kader for her refusal to participate? In the end, they reward Cosimo’s effort and Sarah’s, and they send Kader packing.

The final “Hour of Truth”

In the next challenge, the Allstars can accumulate coins for the last Hour of Truth. They must dive for keys in a pool of neon-green slime—after answering questions, of course. The keys unlock safes containing boxes with varying numbers of coins. Maurice collects the most keys. How many coins that earns him remains a mystery to the viewers for the moment.

How much the coins ultimately pay out is also unknown to the stars, because upon returning to the Sala the next surprise awaits: staff have hidden three final tickets. Whoever finds one earns a spot in the final. For the three remaining stars, the coin hunt was for nothing.

Kate discovers the first ticket, Sarah finds the second—and bursts into tears. After nearly two decades in reality television, she has finally made it to a final. The gay contestant Sam, who appeared in the first season of “Prince Charming” in 2019, ultimately secures the last gold ticket.

Semifinalists’ coins decide the winner

In the final Hour of Truth with Arabella Kiesbauer (57), the finalists first take stock: how many coins have they collected? Sam leads with 14 coins, followed by Kate with ten, and Sarah with eight coins.

But that’s far from the final decision. Maurice, Cecilia, and Cosimo are allowed to distribute their coins among the finalists. Cecilia gives most of her coins to Sarah, whose tears had moved her. That shifts Sarah ahead of Kate. Cosimo, who says his distribution reflects his own values and who bears a tattoo of Jesus on his chest, divides his coins evenly among all the finalists.

That leaves Maurice with the final say over the victory. He begins by awarding five coins to both Sarah and Kate. Then he keeps the tension going—and, with a spine-tingling moment, hands the decisive four coins to Sam. Sam, who had previously been eliminated and fought his way back, is thus crowned the “Allstar of Allstars.”
