Beat the Star: Riccardo Simonetti Takes on Sylvie Meis

“Schlag den Star” heads into a new installment: On December 20 (8:15 p.m. on ProSieben), a man and a woman will go head-to-head in the game show — the first time since the December 2020 duel between Sonja Zietlow and Jürgen Milski. And two close friends happen to be facing off: Sylvie Meis (47) takes on Riccardo Simonetti (32).
The host and the entertainer have known and appreciated each other for years. Now, however, friends become rivals who must prove their competitive spirit in up to 15 different games to win €100,000. Matthias Opdenhövel will guide the evening as always, with Ron Ringguth providing commentary on the action.
For the openly gay Simonetti, this is his first time on “Schlag den Star.” Meis, on the other hand, is no stranger to the format: in June 2020 she decisively defeated her Dutch compatriot Lilly Becker.

Close friendship

The friendship between Sylvie Meis and Riccardo Simonetti is so tight that last year she accompanied him for his bachelor party and was a guest at his Mallorca wedding. As early as 2019, the model delivered a moving speech at the Madonna Blogger Award in Vienna for Simonetti, who was being honored for his work with “Youth Against AIDS.” “You make sure you use your reach consciously — in a really good way,” Meis said of her friend at the time, according to “OE24”
Only in September did the influencer share photos from a joint event on Instagram where the two cuddle and grin from ear to ear. “Reunited and it feels so good,” he raved.

(spot)
