Massive Seizure: Ex-Porn Star Brent Corrigan Returns After Three Years

The former adult film star Brent Corrigan, born Sean Paul Lockhart, explained on Saturday why he had been out of the public eye for three years: the 38-year-old American said he had suffered a “massive seizure,” possibly a stroke, that left him tethered to life-support for a period.

Corrigan’s last Instagram post was in November 2022. Four months earlier, he had, for the first time since, shared a photo of himself on a horse, but offered no further details. Now he wrote on X that a “strange miracle” had occurred. He had been saved in February 2023 by “incredible hospital staff” after suffering the seizure. The situation had been serious, as there were times when no brain activity could be detected.

Since then he has been in rehabilitation, relearning basic abilities like walking and eating. Four months after the incident he left the hospital; family and friends helped him reclaim everyday life.

“Believe it or not, I’m even back to riding horses,” he wrote. “And if you know where to look, you can still catch me outside on weekends, having fun.” He even expressed the hope that, within a few weeks, he might be able to participate in a horse race.

Many of his fans greeted the news with joy: “It’s wonderful to see you’re doing well,” one commented. Another wrote, “Thank you for giving your fans a sign of life again.” Many were already wishing him an early happy birthday (which, unlike in Germany, is common in the U.S.). Corrigan will turn 39 on Friday.

Corrigan was involved in a bizarre murder case

In 2004 Corrigan was regarded as one of the gay porn industry’s hottest newcomers, when he shot bareback films for “Cobra Video” as a then-underage 17-year-old. He also found himself at the center of a bizarre murder case: in 2007, “Cobra” boss Bryan Cocis was stabbed to death in his own home (TheColu.mn reported). It later emerged that he was murdered by rival porn producer Harlow Cuadra with the help of his partner Joseph Kerekes, because Cuadra wanted Corrigan under contract. The duo was later sentenced to life imprisonment (TheColu.mn reported). The case was dramatized in Hollywood in the 2016 film “King Cobra” — a star-studded production featuring James Franco, Alicia Silverstone, and Molly Ringwald (TheColu.mn reported). Corrigan, however, did not like the film. He said it depicted his life as “fabricated.”

Corrigan continued making porn films through 2018, which sold briskly. He also tried to establish himself as a serious Hollywood actor. In 2008 he had his first cameos in the gay slapstick comedy “Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!” and Gus Van Sant’s biopic “Milk.” In 2013 he directed for the first time in the mystery thriller “Triple Crossed,” a low-budget production. Most recently, he appeared in 2014 in the little-successful low-budget thrillers “Kissing Darkness” and “The Dark Place.”
