The Hangover: Politics, People, Places and Hair

You just gotta LOVE the diversity of our Twin Cities.  Where else in a Metro our size can you locate such a spectrum of individuality and opinion?  The weekend began with a summit for providers concerned about and working to reverse the rising rates of new HIV infection among young men who have sex with men (YMSM).  After a day well spent in discussion and connecting community,  several of the attendees made their way downtown to The Eagle.  After spending some time there, the usual suspects managed to make it to other haunts like Tickles and even the Minneapolis Home & Garden show where Christopher Straub made a Friday night runway appearance.  The Home & Garden show continued over the weekend and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly took to the cooking stage to showcase some of their product-inspired recipes to a welcoming crowd.

Saturday morning the Senate District 60 Delegate Conference endorsed Marian Greene as their candidate over the Stonewall DFL-endorsed Katie Hatt in a race that was decided on the margin.  Minneapolis Commissioner Gail Dorfman was at both the Summit and the conference – way to go commissioner!  There was also plenty to look at around town as people got out and about in the beautiful pre-Spring weather.  As things warm up around the cities we will be bringing it to you as quickly as possible after the weekend.  Feel free to also join our Flickr Pool and upload your own shots or send me ideas of what you would like to have covered at [email protected]!

Cheers!
