The Fifth Column: Ouch!
I thought I was having my first tension headache. I woke up one morning with this horrible pain in my jaw muscles. My face felt like it was screaming. Make a scrunched up face while simultaneously biting down as hard as you can. Imagine what your face would feel like after 8 hours of holding that position. That is literally how my face and head feel every day. EVERY DAY. It is making me irritable and quite unhappy.

I generally get jaw pain when I am super stressed out or tense but lately I have felt neither of these things. Nothing is really wrong and I am not particularly stressed about anything. In fact, I’m more relaxed and happy than I have been in a long time. I thought it might be a result of me grinding my teeth at night. I purchased a mouth guard to see if that helped while sleeping but it made it worse in the morning. I tried massage and relaxing my face muscles. These sometimes help during the day but each morning I wake up with the same pain. I am beginning to wonder if this pain is a result of my jaw growing/changing because of the Testosterone. I feel like my bite is changing too. I used to have a slight overbite but my jaw feels more comfortable now if I rest my bottom teeth just on the inside of my top teeth. This is so strange. I’m wondering if any other guys have experienced this…or if I should maybe go to a doctor to get this checked out.
