Landshut: 57-Year-Old Woman Attacks Young Pride Participant

A 57-year-old woman is accused of assaulting a participant during Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Landshut last Saturday. The police reported that at the street festival on Ländtorplatz she struck a 25-year-old man on the chest with her hand. An investigation was opened against her on suspicion of bodily harm.

The incident is said to have occurred around 7:25 p.m. The man, who had taken part in the CSD parade earlier, did not require medical treatment. “The motive for the strike is currently the subject of ongoing investigations,” police said.

Earlier in the afternoon, festival attendees reported to police around 2:20 p.m. that people were carrying posters at the festival grounds. Officers located near an information stand three people aged 17 to 21 who were holding three posters up in the air. Because of the content of the posters, there is an initial suspicion of insulting individuals involved in political life. The police did not initially provide further details about the content.

The CSD demonstration, with more than 1,000 participants, had arrived at around 2 p.m. at Ländtorplatz, where the street festival was opened. The Landshut Criminal Police Department is handling the investigations in both cases.
