The out lesbian national team player Lena Oberdorf must pause again soon after her long-awaited comeback with FC Bayern. According to the Munich club, the 24-year-old midfielder will be sidelined in the coming weeks due to a reaction in her right knee joint. That finding followed an examination by FC Bayern’s medical department.
Oberdorf ruptured her right ACL for the second time in October 2025 and has been out since then. About ten days ago she returned, coming on as a substitute in the Bavarians’ 2-0 Bundesliga win over promoted Mainz 05.
Lena Oberdorf has never made her sexuality a secret. In the summer of 2023 she publicly spoke about her girlfriend for the first time.
