Three unknown assailants attacked and injured a 51-year-old man on the night of June 20 on a parking lot near Bugasee in Kassel. The Kassel Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Nordhessen Police Headquarters announced the information on Friday. Investigators are pursuing a possible homophobic motive.
Police seek witnesses
Only a few days after the incident did the man seek medical attention for his injuries and file a police report last Tuesday, authorities said. Because he was still shaken by what happened, he could describe the perpetrators only to a limited extent. One of the three suspects is about 1.80 meters tall, has light hair, and speaks fluent German with no discernible accent.
The police are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident or can provide information about the suspects to contact the Nordhessen Police Headquarters at (0561) 9100 or by email at with the Nordhessen Police Headquarters.
Brutal attack on gay cruising area already in May 2025
This is not the first incident of its kind in the area: as early as last May, a 41-year-old gay man at Bugasee was assaulted by three young men while he was there in search of sexual partners. He sustained a jaw fracture and a traumatic brain injury.
