Entertainer Julian F. M. Stoeckel and his partner Marcell Damaschke were not allowed to attend the taping of the reunion show for the current season of “Das Sommerhaus der Stars” on Tuesday. The couple, who had previously joined the RTL reality format as late entrants, were reportedly removed from the set by the production company shortly before filming, according to Stoeckel.
Speaking to the Berliner Kurier, Stoeckel explained that his management had only been informed that the two would not need to appear. There was no substantive explanation from the production.
The host of Naked Attraction speculates that the couple were perhaps too harmonious and humorous for a show that is geared toward confrontation and escalation. While he has reportedly accepted the cancellation calmly, Damaschke regrets missing the appearance: He had planned to address on camera, among other things, how a respectful, collaborative partnership can look even under pressure.
“Production only interested in conflict”
Stoeckel also took to Instagram to weigh in on the dismissal and to criticize the production team: “You get the impression the production is only interested in letting people fight, quarrel, and insult,” the 39-year-old explained. “I am convinced that this is not entertainment. We already live in a very negative era. Particularly now, it would be important and appropriate to create positive television with funny and colorful personalities. People you can root for, laugh with, and cry with — to whom you can form an emotional bond.”
