Julian and Marcell: Caught in the Crossfire at The Summer House of the Stars

Hati Suárez (26) and Alex Molz (31) sleep in separate beds in the “Summer House of the Stars” (Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. on RTL, also on RTL+) following a recent feud sparked by Alex’s bizarre alcohol incident in the last episode. By morning, the tension hasn’t cooled. Hati tries to steer clear of Alex, but he seeks out a conversation that he knows won’t end well for him.

For Hati, her relationship with Alex “isn’t healthy anymore.” “My heart hurts. My mind is slipping away. You broke everything. I’m breaking it off now,” she says. Because in the Summer House, Alex has “become a monster.” She rules out any shared future: “You’re not my husband. You’re not a good man. You won’t raise my children.”

Alex Goes Down on One Knee for Hati

Hati packs her bags and leaves the Summer House. Alex chases after her along the gravel drive, drops to his knees in front of her, and begs for one last chance. But she leaves him there, literally sitting on the ground.

The breakup, after barely a year together, has consequences beyond the emotional. He must exit the Summer House as well. The show, according to its subtitled premise, is a “battle of celebrity couples” and solo contestants aren’t part of the format.

Split-Up Shakes Up the Dynamics in the Summer House

The split between Hati and Alex sends shockwaves through the house’s dynamics. The four-couple alliance centered on Hati and Alex now comprises three pairs: Ferry Pall (31) and Kathy Hartlieb (29), Anna Lisson (26) and Tano Milingi (25), and Michelle and Sandro (31) with Michelle Daniaux (27).

The opposing camp, led by Nico Legat (28) and his partner Laura Parrinello (26), along with Anita Latifi (30) and Fabrice (28), now has room to close the gap numerically. Interestingly, Ginger Costello-Wollersheim (40) and her partner Lukas Reiter (32) also join their ranks unexpectedly.

Ginger’s earlier volleying against everyone had given both alliances a common enemy, but now she’s moving closer to the power duo of Anita and Nico. The lineup stands at three against three. Only Julian F. M. Stoeckel (39) and Marcell Damaschke (31) have remained neutral so far.

Paar verweigert Exit-Challenge — und fliegt

Hati’s dramatic departure had threatened to overshadow other developments, but the last episode’s nominations produced another twist. Anita and Fabrice, who had collected the most votes, must face an Exit Challenge. Their opponents aren’t the teams with the second-most votes this time; instead, the opponents are chosen by the game itself.

Pairs must pedal bicycles connected by ropes through a course, answering questions at various stations. Ginger struggles with the intellectual tasks, joking that “consonants” are like a voicemail. She repeatedly fails to spell the word “banana.”

But unlike the other pairs, Ginger and Lukas perform well in the saddle. They are the only couple to reach the finish line, and only because they are waved through the first station, sparing Ginger from having to answer the banana question.

Julian and Marcell fare the worst on the course. They must face Anita and Fabrice in a duel that involves crawling through mud and tossing balls into a high-hung basket. Yet Julian refuses to dirty himself; he and Marcell opt to walk away from the challenge and leave the Summer House. Fabrice appears almost disappointed that he and Anita are allowed to stay without proving themselves in a fight.

Für Anita und Fabrice wird es doch noch eng

Yet the departure of Marcell and Julian isn’t the end of the night. Another couple’s fate hangs in the balance. All couples compete against one another in a series of challenges. Each pair must build a stack of blocks by pressing them together, a test of teamwork and coordination.

Ferry and Kathy, who have been worn down by the bicycle challenge and the house quarrels, rally their last reserves. This couple is the first to complete the obstacle and earns a special power: they can choose one of the two weakest couples to send home.

Kathy and Ferry pick between Tano/Anna and Fabrice/Anita. Although Ferry and Kathy consider Anita and Fabrice to be the weaker link, they opt to send the rival couple home. After getting the previous pass in the Exit Challenge, Ferry and Kathy end up getting caught in the end this time around.
