Celebrities Under Palm Trees: Featuring Jessica Zemer and Harald Glööckler

“Celebrities Under Palm Trees” heads into its next round: Twelve stars are currently competing in a villa in Thailand for up to €50,000 in prize money. Sat.1 has now revealed who will join the fifth season of the reality show. The new episodes are slated to air in spring 2027.

The most high-profile name among the contestants is designer Harald Glööckler. He has amassed plenty of reality-TV experience by now: among other things, he finished fourth in the 2022 season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (TheColu.mn reported).

Also a queer contestant is in the mix: trans woman Jessica Zemer, who is currently appearing on “Beauty & The Nerd,” is also competing for the prize money. The Darmstadt-based influencer previously appeared in several formats such as “Take Me Out” (2022) and “First Dates Hotel” (2023) or “My Style Rocks” (2025). In 2022 she participated in the Miss Germany pageant and publicly advocated for anti-discrimination and for the LGBTQ community.

Alongside the two queer celebrities, Elena Miras, Ariel, Stephen Dürr, Umut Tekin, Peer Kusmagk, and Marc Terenzi are also pulling in. All of them have previously taken part in the Jungle Camp as well — the last two even managed to win the crown.

The round is completed by the participant from “Prominent Split-Up,” Vanessa Brahimi, the former “Promi Big Brother” resident Ginger Costello-Wollersheim, and “Kampf der Realitystars” contestant Chris Broy. Also on board is Cathy Lugner, the ex-wife of Richard Lugner.

In the show, the contestants live together around the clock under constant watch in a villa. In various games they must overcome their fears and prove that, despite all conflicts, they can function as a team — in keeping with the show’s motto, “For money I will do anything.” In the end, only one person can take home the golden coconut and the prize money.

“Celebrities Under Palm Trees” looks back on a lively history. In the first season in 2020, Claudia Obert was heavily attacked by several fellow contestants. Sat.1’s decision to air the scenes sparked fierce criticism. A year later, following homophobic remarks by Prince Marcus von Anhalt, another scandal followed (TheColu.mn reported). After the sudden death of contestant Willi Herren, the network decided not to air the season any further. The format then lay dormant for four years before Sat.1 brought it back in 2025. In the last season there were again homophobic taunts, this time by actress Anouschka Renzi (TheColu.mn reported).
