The sixth and final season of “Emily in Paris” is turning out to be a gift for fans in more ways than one. Netflix has announced that the new episodes will drop on December 24, just in time for Christmas. There’s also a whole batch of images from the new season to admire.
Emily Cooper (Lily Collins, 37) will find herself heading to Greece in Season 6, as had been announced before (TheColu.mn reported). After Italy in the previous season, a new European dream destination joins the show’s itinerary. “That’s what makes Europe so fascinating: the next adventure, a new culture, and a captivating place lie right at your doorstep,” said Darren Star (65), the gay series creator who also conceived Sex and the City, about the new setting.
In the official synopsis for Season six, it reads: “Emily starts a new chapter full of ambition and romance and faces watershed decisions that test her loyalty. Yet unexpected professional conflicts and changes in her relationships make her question where her future truly lies. In the end, she must make a final decision: between her career, her heart, and the life she has built in Paris.”
That the Netflix series would end had been known for months. “Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show, and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s life adventures,” says lead actress Collins in May of this year. “Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into this fantastic farewell season. I can’t wait to experience all the magic that still lies ahead and to celebrate our last season with you in the chicest possible way.”
All the familiar stars will return, including Emily’s friend Mindy (Ashley Park, 35) or agency head Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, 63). Minnie Driver (56), who joined the Netflix series in the previous season, is also back.
