The stars of “2 Broke Girls,” Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs (both 40), are about to share the screen again. Behrs will appear as a guest star in the third season of the ABC series “Shifting Gears.” Dennings has played one of the show’s lead roles since it began in the sitcom.
Behrs is joining the cast as Dr. Johnson, according to Variety. She portrays an emergency room physician who treats Dennings’ character Riley Parker for a back injury. The third season of “Shifting Gears” is slated to premiere in 2027 on ABC. In the U.S., the series streams on Disney+.
Funny Reunion Sketch
The reunion was celebrated by the two actresses in a sketch posted on the Instagram account for “Shifting Gears.” Dennings stands behind a counter and hands Behrs a coffee. “That’ll be seven dollars,” Dennings says. Behrs replies, “Sorry, but I’m broke.” The wink at “2 Broke Girls” doesn’t take long. “Then it’s just the two of us,” Dennings counters.

Six Years Together on “2 Broke Girls”
“2 Broke Girls” aired on CBS from 2011 to 2017, spanning six seasons. The sitcom follows the sharp-witted waitress Max Black (Kat Dennings) and the former heiress Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) as they share a living space, work at a diner, and dream of launching their own cupcake business. To come up with the money they need, they first have to figure out how to get it. The series also featured recurring roles by Jennifer Coolidge and Eric André.
