From July 25 to August 8, Amsterdam will be the center of WorldPride. The city is home to a rich diversity of people and a vibrant LGBTQ+ community, and it’s also where the world’s first same-sex marriage was celebrated in 2001. In partnership with Delta Airlines, KLM is an official partner of WorldPride 2026, reinforcing support for the LGBTQ+ community. The partnership signals that everyone, regardless of origin, sexuality, intersex status, or gender identity, is welcome at KLM. The WorldPride 2026 theme is “Unity.” A theme that resonates deeply with KLM as well: airline founder Albert Plesman once said more than a century ago, “The ocean of the air unites all people.”
In Germany, hundreds of thousands will once again take to the streets for Christopher Street Day (CSD) on July 24–25 in Berlin to demand equality, tolerance, and visibility and to stand against discrimination. KLM links WorldPride in Amsterdam with Berlin’s CSD through a special PrideFlight: flight KL1771 from Amsterdam touched down in Berlin on July 24 at 8:20 a.m. Returning to the Netherlands and arriving just in time for WorldPride’s opening the next day, KL1772 leaves Berlin at 9:05 a.m.
WorldPride Amsterdam is a home away from home: travel not only overcomes physical distances but also creates new experiences that inspire and broaden understanding. The WorldPride event brings people from every corner of the globe together in a major celebration. KLM recognizes the power of connection. As an official partner, the airline demonstrates that it is an inclusive company for both its staff and its customers, who are warmly welcomed on board their journey to Amsterdam.
KLM Pride House at WorldPride
KLM will take part in several WorldPride events. These include the Grachten Parade, participation in the WorldPride March XXL, and a joint presence in the WorldPride Village on Museumplein. KLM will also host the KLM Pride House at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, where six scholarship recipients from the LGBTQ+ community around the world will stay during WorldPride. They come from countries where LGBTQI+ rights are under pressure or where it isn’t always possible to live openly. For many of them, their journey to Amsterdam means more than simply attending an event—it’s the first moment they can truly be themselves.
