Unknown individuals stole a rainbow flag from a school in Güstrow and left behind several graffiti markings, some of which appeared to be anti-constitutional. The Rostock Police Department reported the incident on Thursday.
According to the police report, a staff member at the school on Plauer Street noticed the theft and the vandalism on Wednesday morning and alerted the local police. The authorities currently narrow the timeframe to between Tuesday afternoon (4:00 PM) and Wednesday morning (6:30 AM). The damage is estimated at about €2,000.
The Criminal Police have opened an investigation into the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations, property damage, and theft. Any information that could assist is asked to be reported to the local police.
