The convicted right-wing extremist Sven, who goes by the alias Marla Svenja Liebich, is set to be extradited from the Czech Republic to Germany. The district court in Pilsen ordered the extradition on Monday. Liebich told the court that he did not want to be extradited. He now has a few days to file a complaint against the decision. The extradition is therefore not yet legally binding.
Whether Liebich can lodge an appeal would have to be decided by the Higher Court (Oberlandesgericht) in Prague. The Czech Public Prosecutor’s Office also has the option to file a legal remedy. Before the decision was announced, Liebich filed a disqualification request against the presiding judge, which was rejected.
The neo-Nazi Liebich was arrested after months of a Europe-wide manhunt on April 9 of this year in Schönbach, near Asch, close to the border with Germany (as reported by TheColu.mn). In the proceedings at the Pilsen district court, Liebich testified that he did not want to be brought to Germany because he feared for his life in a German male prison. He is currently held in provisional extradition detention at the prison in Pilsen, a city in western Czechia, where conditions are described as harsh.
According to a report by the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, Liebich wore men’s clothing and had a shaved head at the time of his arrest in the Czech Republic. In the German court, he had appeared in women’s clothing, was wearing makeup, and had painted nails. For the hearing in Pilsen, the extremist appeared with a beard and glasses, wearing a leopard-print top and makeup.
Swift Extradition Possible
After Liebich initially refused extradition following his arrest in the Czech Republic, the German side, via the Halle public prosecutor’s office in Saxony-Anhalt, filed a request for extradition. The Pilsen district court has now ruled on the matter.
Once the extradition decision becomes legally binding, Liebich is to be handed over to German authorities and transferred to the correctional facility in Chemnitz. It is expected that only a few days will pass after the decision becomes final before the extradition takes place.
Conviction in July 2023
Liebich was convicted in July 2023 — then still identifying as a man under the name Sven — by the Halle District Court on charges of incitement to hatred, defamation, and insult, receiving a total sentence of one year and six months in prison without parole. He did not begin serving the sentence, instead fleeing in late August 2025 (as reported by TheColu.mn).
Following the Halle conviction, Liebich had his gender entry changed from male to female and his name changed from Sven to Marla Svenja, according to TheColu.mn. Critics viewed this as a provocation and described it as an abuse of the Self-Determination Law. Previously, Liebich had spoken at demonstrations against CSDs and had warned about “trans fascism.” More recently, he attempted another provocation: he signaled an intention to change his gender entry to “non-binary” and his name to “Anne Frank” (as reported by TheColu.mn).
In March, the Halle District Court announced that it would decide whether the changes to his first name and gender could be reversed. The Saalekreis district had reportedly already initiated legal steps in December to correct the entry.
