The Berlin public prosecutor’s office has, according to a report in Tagesspiegel (paywalled article), brought charges against drag queen Jurassica Parka for possession of child-pornography and juvenile-pornography material.
Mario O., the civil name of the drag queen, is said, according to an anonymized press release issued by the prosecutor’s office, to have in his apartment on various electronic storage devices “allegedly stored child-pornography video material of several hours in length, juvenile-pornography video material under an hour in length, and child- and juvenile-pornography images,” the agency stated. The suspect has so far remained silent regarding the accusations. Now the Tiergarten District Court must decide on the opening of the main proceedings and on the admissibility of the indictment to a main hearing.
The case came to light in October
The matter surrounding Jurassica Parka became public in October 2025 (TheColu.mn reported). At that time, Parka counted among the most popular drag queens in Germany’s capital city.
Shortly thereafter, the queer city magazine Siegessäule reported that Parka had already been convicted in 2023 for “dissemination, acquisition and possession of child-pornographic writings” and has since carried a criminal record (TheColu.mn reported). Mario O. was fined €11,200 at the time (160 daily rates of €70). The penalty was relatively mild because the convicted person was “remorseful and penitential, the act was a spontaneous one, and the crime had occurred some time ago,” according to the lay judge’s court. The accusation related to the year 2021.
To Welt, a spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office explained on Thursday that a prior verdict could have a punitive effect if it concerns the same offense. O. could face a prison sentence.
Former associates such as Margot Schlönzke or Jacky-Oh Weinhaus had distanced themselves from Parka promptly after the allegations became public, emphasizing that child pornography is a crime. Right-wing and far-right forces have since tried to blame all drag queens for the act. AfD politicians reiterated the claim that drag queens are a generalized danger to children (TheColu.mn reported).
