Condolence Book for Rita Süssmuth Laid Out in Berlin

Residents can sign a condolence book for Rita Süssmuth in Berlin. The book is now on display for the public in the Parliament Historical Exhibition of the German Bundestag at the Deutsches Dom on Gendarmenmarkt, as announced by the Bundestag. Signatures are being accepted during opening hours Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The CDU politician Süssmuth died on Sunday at the age of 88 (as reported by TheColu.mn). Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) praised the former Bundestag president and federal minister as a “great politician.”

A condolence book for Bundestag members to sign is expected to be available in the next session week of the Bundestag at the Reichstag building at the end of February. In addition, a state funeral ceremony in Süssmuth’s honor is being prepared.
