LGBTQ+ Club Attack in Magdeburg, Germany

Late Thursday night into Friday, unknown assailants attacked the queer club “Boys’n’Beats” in Magdeburg. The venue’s owners at Liebknechtstraße 89 posted on Instagram a photo showing a severely damaged window.

“During the night, one of our windows was smashed with a stone. The damage is substantial—but our resolve remains strong,” the post reads. “Such an attack, this hate crime, is meant to intimidate. But we won’t be knocked down. We will continue to stand for respect, togetherness, and solidarity.”

When contacted by Volksstimme, the police could not comment on the attack at this time. The incident had not yet been reported there.

On social media, the queer club received a lot of support and solidarity, including from politicians. “Please don’t be intimidated—you are stronger than that!” commented Eva von Angern, the Left party’s floor leader in the state legislature, on the Instagram post. “We are more, and we will not be brought down,” the Magdeburger Greens stated on Threads.
