It’s the last show of our 16th season and we are bringing all sorts of queer to this strange and disarming Autumn/Winter transition. Get your snowblowing engines revving at Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater.

Dykes Do Drag are queers of all genders and orientations, celebrating an expanding continuum of gender expression and performance in the Upper Midwest since 1999. This edgy performance art cabaret features the Twin Cities best as well as newcomers in traditional Drag, burlesque, live music, boi-lesque, modern dance, video and visual art, and lip synching in enticing and exciting hilarity.

A few more bombastic terms to describe DDD include but are not limited to: sexy, radical, entertaining, titillating, kinky and weird.

We perform 5 times a year at the Bryant-Lake Bowl!

outfrontgala

Last year more than 600 people attended this celebration. Attendees included prominent members of the LGBTQ community, major and grassroots donors, community and business leaders, state and local elected officials, all of whom support the mission of OutFront Minnesota.

Our theme this year is, Dare to be Powerful, which is inspired by the iconic words of Audre Lorde:

“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”

This year we want to send a powerful message to those who think our movement moment is over. We will not be afraid to grapple with the hard issues that are still affecting LGBTQ Minnesotans’ lives. We know our leaders have the strength to see their vision through to reality. Our 2015 Gala Award Winners have been chosen, learn more and help us celebrate them here: http://outfront.org/news?module=news&showitem=294

The stage program at OutFront Minnesota’s gala will feature Emmy Award winning actor, vocalist, arts educator and community organizer T. Mychael Rambo as emcee. There will also be a dance party with the talented DJ Seven, a fabulous silent auction and delectable heavy appetizers.
