Patriarchy, white supremacy, classism, colonization, transphobia, homophobia and fear of the feminine spirit creates erasure of women especially of Women of Color and Indigenous Women as both the survivors of oppression and the artists, thinkers, writers, activists, leaders that transform societies. This is especially timely with both the rise of Black Lives Matter movement and Idle No More.
Other events-
March 14th- 2-4pm Screening of Thought Woman- The Life and Ideas of Paula Gunn Allen with post screening discussion with Sharon Day, Coya White Hat-Artichoker. This screening is a fundraiser for Sharon Day’s Indigenous Led Nibi (Water) Walks.
March 29th- 7-9pm Women’s Cabaret Walking Towards the Change (At the table, in the streets, everywhere…) an evening of poetry, performance and dance. proceeds benefit The People’s Movement Center.
