Last week, Dignity/Twin Cities, the Human Rights Campaign, and Call to Action-MN organized a vigil in St. Paul encouraging Archbishop John Nienstedt to be inclusive of LGBT Catholics.
City Pages captured that vigil on video:
The St. Paul event was one of half a dozen around the country. The vigils come as the Extraordinary General Assembly Synod of Bishops is underway in Rome. The assembly is only the third of its kind in history and “will thoroughly examine and analyze the information, testimonies and recommendations received from the particular Churches in order to respond to the new challenges of the family.”
The Vatican announced earlier this week that it was considering softening its tone on LGBT issues.
