An ad released by Target last week features many kinds of families, including two dads raising a child.

The “Made To Matter – Hand-picked by Target” product line at Target was announced last April as “a first-of-its-kind collection that brings together 16 leading natural, organic and sustainable brands to introduce new products and make them more accessible.”

The concept was slated to be released in September, and as of last week, the new ad has appeared on Facebook. It’s been generated some attention because it features a gay male couple raising a son.

The Minneapolis-based retailer announced in early August that the company supports marriage equality, even going so far as to file briefs in support of same-sex couples in marriage equality cases in Indiana and Wisconsin.

Despite outcries and threats of boycotts, it appears that Target is sticking to its support of the LGBT community.
