Leadership changes at PFund

PFund, a foundation committed to strengthening and celebrating LGBT communities in the Upper Midwest, has announced leadership changes as Kate Eubank and Susan Raffo have decided to step down as the executive directors of the foundation. PFund provides grants and scholarships to help build the LGBT community in the Upper Midwest, doling out nearly $200,000 each year.

In an email, the organization announced that Eubank and Raffo would be stepping down after coming on board in 2010:

On behalf of the board and staff of PFund, we are writing to share some important news with you. Today, the PFund board of directors and executive director team Kate Eubank and Susan Raffo announce that the executive directors will be transitioning out of their leadership role over the next several months. The board is pleased to announce that this transition was precipitated by a very happy event in the life of one of half of the executive director team, as Kate Eubank’s partner was offered and accepted an academic position in his field at Colby College in Maine starting this fall. Kate will be moving to the East Coast to join him. Kate and Susan were hired in a unique shared leadership model in 2010, and after thoughtful deliberation, the two have chosen to depart their roles as co-directors in the same manner in which they have so ably led, as a team. PFund’s board of directors and the executive directors are in the process of creating a plan that will ensure the foundation’s activities, including fundraising, grantmaking, scholarships and QReach, continue seamlessly through this transition.
“On behalf of PFund’s board, staff, donors and community partners, our thanks go to Kate and Susan for the significant achievements they have made for the foundation. Through their tireless diligence over the past three and a half years, PFund has increased its individual donor base over 32 percent, and net assets have grown over 11 percent. In 2014, in partnership with the Otto Bremer Foundation, Bush Foundation and the Blandin Foundation, PFund’s QReach regional assessment will invest over $80,000 in direct grants across our five-state region. This is on top of the foundation’s $140,000 in fiscal year 14 grant and scholarship awards.
It is with gratitude that we acknowledge Kate and Susan’s many contributions to PFund, and I am confident that together the foundation and the community we support will continue to grow and prosper,” said Lindsay Kruh, board president.
Jennifer Houston, PFund board member and chair of the QReach Advisory Group also recognizes the important of Kate and Susan’s work on growing PFund’s regional influence: “I’ve had the great honor of working alongside Kate and Susan as we have launched the very exciting and innovative QReach regional assessment. This project came to fruition from the vision and steadfast commitment to building community and developing leadership throughout the Upper Midwest region, and is one of the many and very important enduring contributions of their time at PFund.”
Together, the board of directors, the executive director team, the staff, and countless local, regional, and national partners will ensure that PFund successfully continues its tradition as a trusted steward of community dollars, as a catalyst in building communities and its core work of advancing social justice for LGBT communities in the Upper Midwest.
Sincerely,

PFund Board of Directors and PFund Executive Director, Kate Eubank and Susan Raffo
