For 9 years, The Column has been providing our community with information. This information helps us be entertained. It helps us learn about each other. It helps us understand the threats to LGBTQ equity. It helps us take action. It helps us resist.

These are the things news helps us do. These are the things The Column helps us do.

We want to grow our reach across Minnesota, and give a platform for new voices. We need your help to grow. Consider a tax-deductible donation to ensure news about LGBTQ arts continues to have a home. Give a gift to make sure people and organizations engaging in anti-LGBTQ activity are held accountable. As a volunteer-run organization, more than 90 percent of donations go directly to providing support to LGBTQ writers and reporters.

Over the past two years, The Column has featured in-depth profiles on more than 40 emerging LGBTQ artists. We won an award for exposing discrimination on college campuses, a series of articles that led to real action at the US Department of Education. We tracked more than 50 anti-LGBTQ pieces of legislation at the Minnesota Legislature and the U.S. Congress.

We need to raise $3,000 by the end of Give to the Max Day. Help us continue to succeed with a gift today!

The Column is a community-supported non-profit news, arts, and media organization. We depend on community support to continue the work of solid LGBT-centric journalism. If you like this article, consider visiting Give MN to make a contribution today.
