This lovely romantic weekend is chock full of great opportunities to mix and mingle. If you are single and running stag there are options for you as well.
Mother Courage, starring Julie Dafydd in the title role, opened last night at the Minneapolis Community and Technical College. With great acting and directing, the show was well attended and worth the time. For the price of a can of beans you can take in the performances which continue tonight and Saturday at 7pm with a Saturday Matinee at 1pm.
In the mood for something a little faster and lighter? Consider attending the Queer Speed Dating and Networking event tonight from 6-9pm at Coffman Memorial Union (CMU 303). The event is hosted by the Queer Student Cultural Center (QSCC) at the University of Minnesota. They are serving up free food and fast connections.
Looking for something even more spectacular? Head on over to June for the free champagne and lash bar! Located at 3406 South Lyndale the event is called “I’m Sick but I’m Pretty Valentine Beauty Event”.
The Gallery at Fox Tax, located at 501 1st Ave. N.E. is hosting Art – Art Form 1040: Re-Arted. This free event questions what can effectively be accomplished by collaboration. Instead of working together on a project, local artists appropriate and “redo” each other’s work. “Art Form 1040: Re-Arted” is a high-powered, institutionalized version of tagging, so keep your own bottles of spray paint at home, please.”
Finally, and if you only go out once this weekend, head on down to The Saloon for the Employee Drag Show fundraiser on Sunday from 6pm until they’re done! Always a fun night, this year’s suggested donation of $5.00 benefits The Aliveness Project. Stag or coupled don’t be shy this is a weekend to see and be seen!
