featuring keynote speaker Geena Rocero

Each year, General Mills hosts the Betty’s Family Network Annual Pride Celebration to coincide with LGBT Pride month. This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, and we’re excited to announce our keynote speaker: Geena Rocero.

Geena Rocero is a transgender model and advocate for the community. In 2014 she founded Gender Proud, an organization for trans advocacy and awareness that focuses on the needs of all transgender individuals to self-identify with the fewest possible barriers. Under her leadership the foundation strives to advance progressive gender marker policy around the globe.

New this year we are offering two personal development sessions prior to the evening social event and keynote. These workshops will run simultaneously beginning at 4pm. Registration is required by 06/19/15, and additional details will be provided prior to the event. Anyone is welcome at either workshop, although each was developed to target either LGBT individuals or straight allies.

Development Workshop: Leveraging your Towering Strength

Join executive coach Ali Rodway as she explores the inherent (and often underappreciated) leadership value of being part of the LGBT community. Participants will examine and share how to leverage the gifts developed by growing up “different.” This provocative conversation will not only develop and empower your own leadership, but give you tools and inspiration to support your teams and enhance your company culture. This workshop is focused towards LGBT individuals.

Development Workshop: Ally 101

Ally 101 is an introductory workshop to help straight allies better support their LGBT colleagues and friends. Creating a safe and supportive corporate culture for all members of the LGBT community starts with you! During this hour we will provide tangible takeaways that can be used to be a better ally both in and outside the workplace. This workshop is focused towards straight allies.

RSVP at General Mills.
