Where Are You Safe? Know Your Local Hate Crimes Laws

National Public Radio has a great interactive map showing which states have hate crimes legislation based on race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. Minnesota’s top of the list of well-protected states…just watch out for Wyoming, Utah, Arkansas, Indiana, Georgia, and South Carolina.
