What are you doing for Halloween, the gayest night of the year? TheColu.mn has rounded up a list of some of the best parties this week. *The Gay 90s is looking to do something a little different this year: A Murder Mystery Dinner Show. “Start Halloween off with great food, fabulous entertainment and a fabulous murder! Cocktails at 6 pm, dinner and show at 7 pm. $24.99 per person includes choice of entre, dessert and glass of wine.”

Friday, Oct. 30
*Rumour’s night for lesbian women, LURE, will be a Special Halloween Edition on Friday night starting at 9pm. “Create a costume and come to the Halloween LURE party! There will be cash prizes for BEST COSTUME! Bring your friends along because part of the judging will be based on crowd response! Remember, be creative and have fun with it.”

*Health-O-Ween is a Halloween event for LGBTQ youth. “Live it up, shake it off and dance it out! Health doesn’t have to be scary. Smoke, drug and alcohol free event. Games and prizes. Costumes welcomed and encouraged.”

*Also on Friday night, Solera plays host to The Big Gay Halloween Party, part II: Bigger. Gayer. Halloweenier. If you enjoy DJs and parties, this Dave Em produced event is your place to be.

Featuring: DJ PHIL B (San Francisco) in the main room, DJs SHIEK and NAUGHTY BOYY in the lounge, exclusive dance performances by SOLE 2 SOUL DANCE CONVERSION, and the sassy stylings of WANDA WISDOM.

Saturday, Oct. 31
*LUSH in Minneapolis’ Northeast neighborhood is hosting a Hedonistic Halloween, its first Halloween party since opening last summer. Featuring DJ Sheik and everyone in costume gets a free shot.

*Rumours is having a “Halloween Ball” with drink specials, DJ “Freaky” Frayz and a costume contest with over $1,000 in prizes. They are also participating with the Lowertown Entertainment District’s 2nd Annual “Boo’s Crawl” where participants get a free drink at select Lowertown establishments.

*The Saloon is hosting “Wicked Nights” and their annual costume contest will begin at 10 pm. Judges will rate “outrageous costumes” based on talent and creativity. The first prize will be $1,000 in cash.

*The 19 Bar is hosting its annual costume contest. “Judges score higher for homemade costumes than rentals.” There are many chances to win and prizes are awarded at 11 pm. 1st place is $500 cash, 2nd place is $300 cash, ad Third place nets you a $50 bar tab, which at the 19 can go a long way.

*Head over to St. Paul where Camp appears to have the biggest cash giveaway for the costume contest. Their Haunted Hollywood promises $2000 in prizes. Best costume is $500, sexiest costume is $250, best group costumes are a $500 private party at the bar, and the runner up gets $300 in prizes.

*For something a little more political, you could attend Halloqueen at the Lake Street Light Rail Station and ending at the Mall of America starting at 5 pm. “No heteronormative space is safe from disruption. In all our beauty, glitter, and glam, we will reclaim any space designed to suffocate our desires. Taking our hot dolled up selves and the jams on the lightrail and back to the mall to invade “the worlds largest indoor trick or treat” there we will dance, obviously do some more making out,”grossing out” families and consumers and passing out literature, all while dancing it up and having a good time.”
