Out Twin Cities Film Festival begins Thursday

The third annual Out Twin Cities Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, May 31st and TheColu.mn is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s events.

The festival kicks off at 5:30pm on Thursday with “Inspired: The Voices Against Prop 8,” which spotlights the aftermath of California’s repeal of marriage equality. At 7:30pm, “America’s Most Unwanted” delves into LGBT kids in the foster system. “Homo Promo” at 9pm chronicles LGBT filmmaking in the 1950s, 60s and 70s at 9pm.

The festival continues through the weekend at the St. Anthony Main Theatre and includes shorts, documentaries, foreign films and even a film devoted to Dolly Parton. Tickets are $10.

There will also be a brunch at Mac’s Industrial Sports Bar on Sunday, June 3 at 11am.

This year’s festival also includes a Minnesota Video Contest with recognition for local made movies.

Several of the filmmakers will be in town to talk about their films: The Lane twins from Hollywood to Dollywood (which shows Saturday at 7pm) will be at the Saloon that evening to discuss the film. And most films will have moderated discussions following their presentation.
