Pride Descending

Well Muffins it is here!  Pride weekend 2011 for Minnesota!

While some have opted to get as far away from the chaos that is about to descend upon our fair state – oh wait… did I say FAIR? – never mind that is another post… others are bracing themselves for self-induced sleeplessness and mayhem!

Rest assured there is something for everyone now with TC Gay Pride events popping up everywhere and lasting almost an entire month.  The Homo Agenda is too large to contain and has mostly gone Facebook so I am only highlighting three things in this post.

Queertopia at Intermedia Arts is tonight and is a one stop shop to the GLBT embrace of our roots and culture and promises to be a great show!

Tomorrow I want to highlight the substance-free alternative to the all too common debauchery that many now associate with our pride celebration.  Fruit Bowl is occurring tomorrow night at Memory Lanes from 6 – 11pm.  It is a family friendly night of substance free fun hosted by none other than yours truly.  This fabulous event brought to you by Rainbow Health Initiative, The Neighborhood Involvement Project, Pride Institute and Preston Chiropractic. Center is in its fourth year!

Bitch and Brunch is a nice way to mingle with friends for the parade on Sunday and if you want to hear about the fabulous Sweetpea here is a link to a recent show I recorded with her.  Sweetpea is the emcee of this year’s main stage in Loring Park.  She will also be performing around town throughout the weekend.  One thing is for sure – she has a lot of energy and love to give y’all!

Love, Peace and HAPPY PRIDE!

Hello Muffins! I have been around for some time now and I keep myself pretty busy. When you don't see me at events I am most likely writing, blogging or recording from my kitchen table. I love to cook and educate so anything fattening or radical is probably on my todo list. I am just thrilled to be officially swept up as a member of TheColu.mn's core. Love & Peace, Margie
