Bullied, a film about Wisconsin student Jamie Nabozny who sued his school district for not protecting him from bullying and harassment will be shown tonight at 7pm at the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis. Here’s the trailer for the film:

According to an email update from OutFront Minnesota:

The legislature is now in session and the Safe Schools for All act will be reintroduced. Safe Schools for All passed the legislature with strong bipartisan support in 2009, only to be vetoed by former-Governor Pawlenty. Governor Dayton supports protecting GLBT students from harassment. It’s up to us and our supporters in the legislature to get this bill to his desk!

Join us at tonight at 7pm at the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis where we will show the powerful 45-minute documentary Bullied, focusing on the harassment experienced by Ashland, Wisconsin student Jamie Nabozny, who initiated a successful federal lawsuit after consulting OutFront Minnesota (then called the Gay & Lesbian Community Action Council).

After the film there will be a community discussion where you will hear from students affected by bullying and harassment and community leaders about the specific action steps you can take to support Safe Schools for All and strengthen Minnesota against the problems facing our young people!
