Health Educator – PrideAlive (Minneapolis, MN)

Health Educator – PrideAlivePrimary Duties/Responsibilities:
Minnesota AIDS Project seeks an energetic, outgoing, full-time health educator with experience in coordinating volunteers for its PrideAlive program, a peer-based community empowerment program focusing on the sexual health of gay/bi men. This position is part of a work group dedicated to stopping HIV through social connections, education and community empowerment. Specific responsibilities include recruiting, maintaining and training volunteers, organizing social and educational events, conducting outreach in gay venues and social networking sites, and offering HIV field-based testing.PrideAlive’s Health Educator will have a demonstrated commitment to MAPs mission, experience and knowledge in HIV and gay/bi men’s health, and familiarity with innovative community level health education strategies. Experience and demonstrated skills in community organizing, volunteer recruitment and/or mentoring peers is critical. Experience conducting HIV testing and Internet outreach in gay chat rooms is a plus. A demonstrated ability to work in an environment that requires a high degree of personal responsibility and team accountability is essential to success in this position, as is a demonstrated ability to assume the trust and confidence of men who have sex with men.
Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge drawing from working with volunteers, public health, education, community organizing, and/or related fields. Bachelors Degree or two years of equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience or ability to engage and maintain volunteers to plan social events, conduct outreach, and participate in program activities.
• Experience in working productively in a team and community organizing skills to build community participant involvement.

Chemical Dependency Counselor (On-Call) (Hennepin County, MN)
PRIDE Institute, the nation’s first and leading provider of chemical dependency and mental health treatment services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, is seeking an experienced chemical dependency counselor to become a part of our team. We operate Rule 31 residential and intensive outpatient programs in Eden Prairie and Minneapolis. We provide integrated treatment services for persons with sexual compulsivity, chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
Successful candidates will possess the following required qualifications:
• Hold a permanent LADC license, or be eligible to provide chemical dependency treatment services under Minnesota 9530.6450, subpart 5;
• Have experience treating clients with co-occurring disorders;Additional preferred qualifications include:
• Two or more years experience as a chemical dependency counselor
• Program development experience
• Experience working with culturally diverse populations
• Demonstrated practice and interest in treating sexually compulsive behavior

We operate Rule 31 residential and intensive outpatient programs in Eden Prairie and Minneapolis. We provide integrated treatment services for persons with sexual compulsivity, chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
Successful candidates will possess the following required qualifications:
• Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs, substance abuse and assessment. Must have experience in the supervision and training of interns.
• A valid Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to practice in the State of Minnesota
• Have experience treating clients with co-occurring disorders;Additional preferred qualifications include:
