The Rochester Girls Hit The Stage Tomorrow Night

by Sarah Shonyo April 30, 2010 Arts, blog, Nightlife No Comments

The city of Rochester will feel just a little more exotic this weekend.

The Rochester Girls, Inc., a not-for-profit organization whose drags shows raise money for regional charities, will be presenting Arabian Nights at the Ramada Hotel in Rochester on Saturday night.  The show will feature members of The Rochester Girls as well as the house cast of Illusions out of La Crosse, the Blue Lotus Middle Eastern Dancers, and Miss Brandonna Dupree.

The organization’s co-founder Darren Wendt – who performs on-stage as Sidonia Dudval – notes that this show is particularly meaningful to many in the LGBT community because it marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of fellow Rochester Girls founder Celeste DeVille.

The Ramada Hotel is located at 1517 16th Street SW in Rochester.  Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7:30.  Cost is $8 with formal attire or $10 without.  21+
