One hundred Minnesota same-sex couples have wed in Iowa

Today is the one year anniversary of the Iowa Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in that state. Minnesotans have flocked to our neighbor to the south to enjoy the only equality afforded same-sex couples in the Midwest.

The Associated Press reports that of the 1,783 same-sex couples married in Iowa, 100 were Minnesotans. There were a few more couples from Illinois, 172 total.

The AP also notes that it will be at least for more years before conservative could make a move to ban same-sex marriage in Iowa.
