Ana Kaner-Roth has been named the new executive director for Project 515, an organization working to educate Minnesotans about the 515 ways that Minnesota law discriminates against same-sex couples. Under the leadership of former executive director, Laura Smidzik, the group passed the Saving One’s Home Act which allowed a surviving same-sex partner to stay in a their home after the other partner dies.
“Project 515 is very fortunate to have someone with Kaner-Roth’s credentials serve as our executive director,” Lee Anderson, chair of Project 515’s board of directors, said in a statement. “Her background growing a small non-profit and her public policy and political experience are wonderful assets for our needs today.”
kaner-Roth served as the executive director of Child Care WORKS, “a Minnesota-based grassroots advocacy organization focused on child care and early childhood education,” and as the associate director of the Jewish Community Foundation of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and three young children, according to a statement released by Project 515.
