Devin Strouss has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for shooting two people at the 19 Bar on Oct. 15.
Strouss was escorted out of the 19 Bar last October after being refused service due to drunkenness and because he brought his dog into the bar. After leaving the premises, he fired through the door hitting two people both of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
He was arrested two days later and released after posting bail. He was arrested again in January after stabbing his drug dealer after Strouss attempted to steal marijuana.
On Wednesday, Hennepin District Court Judge Hilary Caligiuri sentenced Strouss to two 36 month sentences to be served concurrently for the shooting, and another 45 months for the stabbing to be served consecutively, the Hennepin County Attorneys Office said in a statement on Wednesday.
The attorneys office said, “The 19 Bar shooting mobilized the Loring Park neighborhood. Many residents and business owners submitted community impact statements that explained how the shooting affected their community. Some were present throughout the hearings to support the victims.”
